Ash + OAK began with an innocent love of flowers. Working in the service industry to support ourselves, we experimented with floral design in our free time -- making simple arrangements and flower crowns for friends on special occasions, brunch parties and birthday picnics. As our understanding of the intricacies of floral design deepened, so did our commitment to our craft. We went from dandelions in the park to creating truly unique arrangements for weddings, holiday parties and more and began to realize that the only thing more rewarding than spending time with flowers, was seeing how happy they can make our loved ones. Then, somewhere along the way, we thought "what's there to lose?" and Ash + OAK was born. Following our dreams has never felt so good!
We hand pick all our flowers from the San Francisco flower market, using the freshest flowers each season has to offer. All of our arrangements are custom designed to fit your specific vision. We take pride in creating anything you can dream up -- from romantic and soft to wild, colorful and bohemian to edgy, modern looks — and everything in between!
Don't have a vision but want something unique and beautiful? We'd love to help. Creating inspiration boards, taking field trips to the flower market and arranging mock bouquets are a great way to find inspiration and edit ideas and we will work with you every step of the way to bring your vision to life.
Ashley was born in the Pacific Northwest. Her love for the nature, hiking and exploring was the start to her floral design career. Ashley attended the Art Institute of Portland where she studied fashion. Once she left the beautiful Northwest and moved to Oakland she realized her love for fashion was not as strong as she hoped. Pondering the idea of career paths she quickly remember her favorite job. In 2004 she worked in a local market where she looked over fresh flowers. It was no shock that working with natural beautiful plants was meant to be. Ashley reached out to her favorite floral design studio in the Bay Area for an internship. Quickly she was learning and loving every moment. Ash + Oak began.
