Beauty with a Conscience

At Ash + Oak, we are committed to minimizing our carbon footprint and prioritizing sustainability. We exclusively purchase seasonal flowers to prevent any additional environmental impact. As part of our dedication to supporting local communities, we source 50% or more of our flowers from local organic farmers, while the remaining 50% is locally sourced. We refuse to buy flowers that need to be brought in solely for your wedding, ensuring a conscious approach to our floral selections.

Our studio operates with a strong awareness of waste management and environmental responsibility. We actively compost, recycle, and reuse materials whenever possible. In 2022, 65% of our vases were supplied by talented local artists in California, with an additional 10% sourced from a small crafter near our Mexico headquarters. Each year, we seek out new options for our inventory to be utilized across all 30 weddings we undertake. However, for our A La Carte Elopements orders, we do incorporate a few non-local pieces and utilize basic glass vases for our bridal bouquets.

At Ash + Oak, we source local and organic flowers because we believe in offering you the best of the best. We prioritize sustainability and consciously avoid the use of unnecessary plastic or foam in our installations and arrangements. Instead, we employ innovative alternatives like Agra wool and reusable water tubes, steering clear of traditional floral foam. By reducing our reliance on floral foam and choosing organic blooms, we aim to address the issues of environmental impact and pesticide use within our industry.

We have a passion for giving back to our community and supporting causes close to our hearts. Ash + Oak proudly stands as a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and actively contributes to local charities in San Francisco, Oakland, and Mexico. Additionally, we lend our support to initiatives such as the Innocence Project, animal rescue centers, women's shelters, and local organic farms.
