THE PERFECT TABLE FOR YOUR WEDDING RECEPTION

THE PERFECT TABLE FOR YOUR WEDDING RECEPTION

ROUND vs FARM

FIRST UP THE ROUND TABLE

Round tables have been around for ages, but they have been overlooked for the past few years or so. We understand the love for the look of a farm table, but we're here to tell you why you should give round tables a chance. Not only do they seat more guests per table, but they also help your overall bottom line by requiring fewer centerpieces, linens, tables, and candles.

Let's explore a few ideas by table size:

48' - A mix of bud vases or small arrangements would be perfect for this size. You can play around with different colors and textures to create a fun and playful look.

60' - A traditional medium-sized arrangement placed in the center is always a classic choice. You can use this size to showcase your favorite flowers or color palette.

72' - This is where you can really have fun! Leverage tall vessels for a statement moment that draws the eye up or combine three different full-sized arrangements, large, medium, and small, clustered together in the middle. This will create a stunning focal point for your guests to admire.

At Ash + Oak Floral, we believe that every detail counts when it comes to creating the perfect wedding atmosphere. By utilizing round tables in different sizes, you can add visual interest and elevate the overall design of your reception space. So don't overlook round tables any longer, they might just be the perfect addition to your wedding day.

NEXT UP THE FARM

The size of your meal service and table will dictate the size of your florals. We recommend a plated or buffet-style dinner service if you're looking for full centerpieces with standard farm tables. Large serving platters with a family-style dinner option will quickly swallow up the real estate on a standard-sized table. If you want family-style and full florals, you have to go bigger.

Many couples think that a standard rectangle table rental (6x30 or 8x30) is big enough to have full florals and family-style dinner service, but only the Queen and King sized farm tables (40'' and 48'', respectively) have enough table real estate to achieve this. If Queen and King's tables are unavailable, we advise against family-style service. Standard-sized tables are not big enough to house food platters, cutlery, glasses, and full-sized floral arrangements. Sadly, the florals end up getting pulled once service begins to accommodate for serving dishes, and it's a waste of all the money you just spent on florals.

Instead, we recommend asking your florist for bud vases or small arrangements to be placed in the negative space on your table. This is a great way to add a touch of beauty and elegance to your table without taking away from the practicality of the meal service. By opting for smaller arrangements, you'll save money and still have beautiful florals that won't be obstructed by platters and dishes.

In summary, when it comes to table size and meal service, bigger is better if you want full florals with family-style service. If you're working with standard-sized tables, opt for smaller arrangements to avoid wasting money and effort on florals that will end up getting pulled during dinner service.

If you still can’t decide, we have another suggestion for you. Why not try using a mix of different-sized round tables in your reception space? This will help break up the room and create visual appeal. Plus, when you combine different-sized rounds, you can ask your florist to create a unique look for each size that accentuates its dimensions.
