10 THINGS YOU NEED FOR THE PERFECT ELOPEMENT
ELOPING?
Since weddings are canceled but love isn’t why not plan the perfect elopement for now and plan the perfect party once we know what the HELL is going to happen next year. Below is a list of all the things you need.
1. Location: You don’t have to waste thousands of dollars on this location. It could be where you first met, your favorite hike, or where you got engaged.
2. A Dress: This doesn’t have to be THE dress or even the dress you already bought for your wedding. Wear something that is comfortable, you don’t need to diet for or something so opposite of your wedding dress you can’t help yourself.
3. At least a Professional Photographer or Videographer: You are going to want to remember this one forever too and to show your friends and family. Zoom is great but wouldn’t you rather send your besties a focused video with good sound.
4. FLOWERS: duh, of course, a bridal bouquet is a MUST. There probably won't be an aisle but don’t your want to walk towards your man and feel the goosebumps. If you don’t have flowers it won’t feel as real. We have been encouraging our brides to go with a different look than their planned wedding than on the BIG day you will get those goosebumps all over again. Think small a bouquet, boutonniere, and maybe on centerpiece or cake flowers.
5. Yes, CAKE or something mini. What better way to end the day than with sugar, a cocktail, and dancing.
6. Spa Day: GIrls we have been locked in our houses for months, it’s the perfect reason to get a quick trim, wax, mani, and pedi. We usually promote professional make-up to make photo editing even easier but your professional photographer isn’t going to have 5,000 photos to edit so spend the money on basic grooming that has seen better days.
7. Dinner: If you have the extra money hire catering for an intimate dinner for your closest friends or order from your favorite pizza place. If you love to cook prep everything and have a close friend warm it up for you. But definitely sit down and celebrate.
8. Overnight stay: Book yourself a fancy hotel or Air BnB. Trust me you have been in your house for long enough.
9. Computer: If you don’t book that professional videographer then you can zoom your family. Also, you can play music for a little dance party moment. Bring that jambox too!
10. Booze: at least bring a bottle of champagne/wine if you're not batching a hydro flask of cocktails. You’re going to want cheers after you say I do.
A few things we don’t think you need:
New expensive shoes: no one really sees them anyways
Jewelry: Borrow something from a friend, remember you may have a bigger party later and will need the bling to feel extra special
Hair or Make-up Artist: We touched on this a little above but you know you have one friend that is good enough that could help save you money.
DJ: Make a playlist or go find the bar open that has live music
More than 10 people there: This is for you and your partner. Pick the most important people to the both of you.
